Questions Most Pondered

Top-10As I stated in my previous post, I have always had questions about the facts that have been taught and that have been repeated over and over again for decades. Facts that didn’t seem to make sense when combined with other facts. Or anomalies that got rejected for no other reason than at the time of discovery they were singular or supposedly singular finds. Add to this the arrogance with which modern scholars dismiss past stories as the ignorant imaginings of lesser men, judged such for no other reason than being from an earlier time. Coupled with the dismissing of oral histories and traditions simply because they are oral. And the dismissing of heroes and demi-gods and or times of gods living among men as not factual, more so based on our use and concept of those words than on any true evidence.

So as the title implies, I am going to share with you some of my most pondered questions. They are not in any specific order. For I believe that they are all, in their own way, of equal importance to our understanding of our past and our hope for our future.

Why are their 2 distinct construction designs visible at Giza if everything was built during the same dynasty?
If you observe closely all the structures of Giza, you will notice that a handful of structures are constructed using blocks that are much larger than even the 2 to 5 ton blocks that comprise a majority of the construction of the plateau.

Machu_Picchu_PeruWhy do scholars refuse to believe the stories of ancient indigenous peoples who claim that they did not build certain places that they occupy?

One of the most widely known cases of scholars consistently giving credit to peoples that straight out said was not their’s to take are that of the Incas. There are numerous early sources that include statements of verifiable Inca nobility and religious sects that deny their people’s construction of all or parts of places like Cusco and Machu Pichu.

How knowledgeable and intelligent were past peoples, such as the Neanderthals and Denisovans?
There are theories that propose that Neanderthals were the primary artists of a majority of European cave art and that Denisovans were the constructors of Gobekli Tepe. One of the newest theories that has been years in the making is that they were also accomplished astronomers and may have used those skills to date specific times, possibly as a method of recording historic events.

Africa is at the top.

Why did ancient cultures with geography skills and knowledge orient to South and today we orient to North?
In addition to this tidbit, there are also references to a singular ocean or sea, which when you view the Earth from the South Pole as opposed to the North, is a very accurate statement.

Does coming from Orion or Sirius or Pleiades mean coming from the stars or merely refer to celestial navigational points?
The least hi-tech method of navigation is celestial. To use the placement of the stars and constellations along with the rising and setting of the Sun and or Moon to track one’s course. Something that the ancients did very well and with high specificity.

Why do scholars hold so tight to the Out Of Africa theory, preaching it as fact?
While it can be supported that Africa has a very rich evolutionary history, we do not know for certain that it is the only such place or that it is as completely the whole of homo sapiens sapiens origins as scholars claim. If for no other reason than that we have not put one-quarter the effort into looking in any other location for the evidence that we have in Africa.

Why did pre-historic cultures, supposedly with primitive rudimentary tools work with such complex layouts and gigantic stones in their buildings?
If you have watched any of the documentaries on the construction of any ancient structures of note, such as the Pyramids of Giza or Stonehenge or Gobekli Tepe, you will hear that it was all done with the most rudimentary tools and or pure hard-labor of man. Another comment that you might hear is from construction experts of our time that claim that such undertakings are basically impossible with all our machines and technology today. Forgetting all that, what logic made working with 2- to 10- to 40-tons plus blocks of stone necessary?

Why do scholars limit civilization’s history to the last ~5000 years denying and even ridiculing the mere mention of things like Atlantis?
If you listen to the ancients that are given status and credit by the scholars, all of them speak of epochs of time before them that were of greatness in terms of the feats of men and the standards of living of the peoples of those long ago eras. Yet, scholar after scholar refuses to even consider that there has to be some truth to their stories.

When, where and why did writing begin?
We define writing as the systematic use of symbols to convey our thoughts and ideas and information without the use of oral expression. But, what really makes up a writing system? And with all the unknowns how do scholars decide that one set of symbols is absolutely writing and other symbols are not. Especially, if their only rebuttal is that some symbols predate the labeled fact of writing originating in Sumeria around 5000YAG.

How much truth and historic fact can really be found in the lines of myths?
Many a child has been so lured by the lines of a story as to become obsessed with proving that it is a real story. That very obsession is how we discovered Troy. So why not put more faith in the reality of our ancients histories by remembering that absence of proof is not proof of absence.

These and more are the questions that feed my curiosity and kindle my desire to know more. It is the desire to find the truth of our history and the journey of our ancestors that inspires me to write this blog. It is my hope that at least one of my articles inspires you to begin or continue your own curious journey for the truth.

Puzzle pieces

One of the things that interest me most and inspires me to learn more and read more and research more are the enigmas around us. Those pieces of the puzzle of our story that don’t fit nicely where we are told that they should fit and the pieces that are sitting off to the side cause the ‘experts’ are not quite sure what to do with them, they cannot deny them, but there is no room for them in their solid unbending version of history.

Our story should never be set in stone, it should be allowed to grow and change and shift as we learn more and more about where we come from and how we got where we are. We must remind ourselves that we have not searched every millimeter of dirt and earth, we have not preserved every manuscript, document, monument that recorded the histories and legends of our ancestors, worse, we have destroyed more of our story than we have ever preserved. So we should never judge as if we have or know it all.

One of the most illustrious examples of this arrogance among respected experts concerns Dr. Zahi Hawass, the former Minister of State for Antiquities Affairs in Egypt. He has been pompously insistent about the Sphinx dating from ~3500BC; one of his primary arguments when someone suggests an older date due to geological finds or other evidence regarding the pit and monument, is the utter lack of any other comparable structure proven to be older not just in the region, but anywhere in the world…

Well, Dr. Hawass…..I present Gobekli Tepe, dated and peer accepted to be at least ~11,500 years old. As the pictures show it also seems to out shine the Sphinx in size and skill, both technical and artistic; thus, based on the liner procession that you claim limits the ability of the Sphinx to be older than ~3500BCE, I do believe that you stand corrected.

If you might wonder what the esteemed, Dr. Hawass, would say in a real challenge to the dating of the Sphinx with the supporting evidence of Gobekli Tepe, you can do a quick Google search for the Hawass – Hancock Debate with keywords Sphinx and Gobekli Tepe. If you follow up. please keep in mind that Dr. Hawass wielded more power than God as Minister of State for Antiquities Affairs of Egypt in the field of Egyptology, when it came to researchers seeking access to sites and artifacts and other documents and information curated and maintained by the Egyptian government and affiliated institutions and organizations.

As for what makes Gobekli Tepe so special….
Gobekli Tepe Site via Graham Hancock
via GrahamHancock.com

First, the site, itself, is absolutely amazing, there are dozens of circular enclosures that were built over the span of centuries covering the area. There are a couple theories about the alignment of the enclosures being astronomical in nature. And a new theory that uses Pillar 43 to show the compilation of historic ‘event markers’ using astronomical alignments (the most accurate means of dating any moment in time).

Secondly, there is the craftsmanship of some of the pillars in some of the enclosures that are advanced by our standards, and phenomenal when placed in the context of how we see man 10-15,000YAG. (See above) Some of the pillars are ~3m tall and single pieces of stone. Most of the art work is protruding reliefs, in case you are wondering, it is easier to create sunken reliefs on stone as you are working a positive image as opposed to protruding reliefs that require the crafter to work in the negative.

fertile_crescent_via NASA Earth Observatory
Fertile Crescent via NASA Earth Observatory

Next, the location of the site. Gobekli Tepe is located in southeastern Turkey, or ancient Anatolia, and by some providences in the Northern reaches of the Fertile Crescent. That being said, there are things that we have believed in the past that we do not believe anymore and why is not clear. First, place names have changed over time and by those writing about previous events. Most of our histories are not written by witnesses to either the events or exact locations and times of the events. Up until the middle ages most scholars believed that most of the place names of the Old Testament were places much further north than are believed today.

An example of this is the description of the Garden of Eden, which most modern scholars and laymen alike would tell you is located in Iraq, based on the flow of the Tiger and Euphrates Rivers, some will even suggest that the location is the bottom of the Persian Gulf due to the presence of extinct and now submerged river beds there, however, the accounts tell us that the 4 rivers flowed away from the Garden, thus it is the headwaters and not the deltas that should be sought when seeking the Garden…and the headwaters of the Tiger and Euphrates are north, in the Armenian Highlands, in the East Taurus Mountains.

Neolithic Farming via radiolemberg
Neolithic Farming via radiolemberg.com

Finally, the standing theory is that once man learnt to farm, roughly 10,000YAG according to dates in the Fertile Crescent region, then he had the time and resources to become ‘civilized’ or to build and create cities and societies, yet the dates and information from Gobekli Tepe counter that theory, there does not appear to be any major or even minor organized farming at the site prior to the confirmed dates of some of the believed earliest enclosures. (Not all the known enclosures have been excavated and or dated.) Thus, it cannot be said that Gobekli Tepe was built because the local men had time on their hands due to their new farming lifestyles.

So what was the purpose of the enclosures? And why at some point after their constructions were the enclosures systematically filled in and buried? How and why were the enclosures built in the middle of nowhere void of permanent settlements? Who built the enclosures and where did their skills of construction originate? Interestingly enough, some of the more precise and technologically advanced of the enclosures seem to be the oldest ones with the skill and level of excellence declining over the subsequent centuries; this is something that some will tell you is clear at Giza as well. And questions that we will be taking up in future articles and podcasts.

So while I have not been doing a lot of writing in quite awhile, I have still been doing a lot of reading, research, and following of others’ research and theories. I have, also, been working out my next pursuit in my head and on paper, so to speak. I have long thought that the “official” story of humanity has some major contradictions and errors in it. Even as a child, raised basically in a christian’ish belief system, I always had questions about things that made no sense to me or that did not seem to tell the whole story or answer all the questions that I had.

Questions like; if Adam and Eve were the first people then why did Cain need to be marked? Didn’t ALL the people (his family) already know who he was and what he did? And if everyone was going to descend from Adam and Eve then wouldn’t they all know who Cain was already? Of course some versions say that God sent them out to find wives, again if Adam and Eve were the first then where were they to go out to to find wives? And Noah, how was he supposed to fit pairs of ALL the animals in the world in his Ark? How was he supposed to get all the animals to his Ark? And again, if it is just Noah and his family (and different versions define the family in different ‘sizes’), where do wives after the flood come from?

Moving forward to school and studies the same half stories with glaring unanswered issues seemed to be more the norm than the exception. The most awful facet was the way that half-stories were not told as this is what we think, believe, or our best guess. Instead, it was stated as unquestionable fact that would beget harsh criticism and ostracization if it was indeed question or if the holes in the supporting facts were pointed out, some so big you could fly the Sun through.

Such ‘facts’ as the Sphinx was built at the same time as the pyramids, yet, while it has in known times spent most of its time covered up to it’s neck in sand, it is the most weathered and repaired of the structures on the plateau. Or that if the Great Pyramid was a tomb, why is it devoid of ALL things that identify tombs fit for pharaohs? If we have only been ‘civilized’ for between 5,000 to 8,000 years, then who built Gobekli Tepe? If we are so advanced and the ancients so unsophisticated from a technological point of view, why can we not easily replicate their famous works?

When we hear their stories of the heavens and the earth and heroes and disasters, why do we assume that they are just made up tales to serve totally abstract purposes? Why is it so easy for experts to dismiss the ancients as being ignorant, in spite of the fact that evidence to the contrary is all around us, from the ruins of ancient cities to their stories and languages? What makes a culture or people “advanced” or “civilized” or “technological”?

In the upcoming articles, I will be looking into Egypt as a possible key between what is now and what was before and is now hidden from our story. We will look at new theories about the Giza plateau. We will also explore megalithic structures from Egypt and the Mediterranean Region to the British isles. We will explore connections between the Egyptian language and cosmology and similar concepts in other cosmologies from the Dogon to Gobekli Tepe to Indian Stuppas. We will look into the study that concludes greater genetic relations between Ancient Egyptians and modern Britains than Ancient and modern-day Egyptians. We will ponder anomalies such as tobacco and cocaine found in Egyptian mummies and hieroglyphs found in Australian rock carvings. We will consider pyramids from Asia to the Americas. In addition, we will consider similarities between pieces of cave art, pectoglyphs and geoglphys. All this is just the beginning of the journey, so come along for the adventure!

And let’s see where this leads us and where we end up.

Consider This

Today’s world places great emphasis on ‘experts’. Titles are doled out to supposed deserving individuals by Academic Institutions and Associations, Professional guilds and collectives, and government agencies and councils. Letters are added to the end of names upon merit, distinction, or fame.  However, the focus has shifted from the search for knowledge to the image of dominion over a study. This shift has been a killing blow to our understanding of our history and the world around us.

Take the concept of a Renaissance Man, this is a truly inconceivable idea to most people today. Awkwardly, most think that someone that knows a little bit about a few different subjects, enough to be entertaining from an average cerebral context at cocktail or dinner parties, fits the bill. In fact, this is very far from the truth, in reality those men of greatness that provided the example of what we now consider to be the “Renaissance Man” were not just merely acquainted with a few subjects, they were master students of many very diverse and broad areas of interest. The WHOLE of life and the world inspired them and drove them to seek understanding not just in the individual details of the subject matter, but also in the connectivity of all things within the universe. DaVinci was not merely interested in the flight of birds to make his art more realistic, he was consumed with the means and mechanics of flight in order to understand the very air we breathe and all its limits and limitlessness in our universe and the use of it to harness flight of man and machine.

leonardo-da-vinci-vitruvian-man
Vitruvian Man, c.1492 via allposters.ie

These men were inspired and driven to understand how everything worked and functioned and understood that each detail was merely one tiny piece of the huge jigsaw puzzle that made up the world around them and the universe we inhabit.

What made these men different from our scholars and scientist and ‘experts’ of today? These men of old were not seeking fame and fortune, a lot of the most learned have been forgotten to history, take for example Athanasius Kircher, considered the last man to know everything, they were seeking wisdom and understanding, they truly wanted to know how and why and where and when and what about it all! Their goal was universal knowledge as destined self-fulfillment of the mind and soul, the very purpose of our being.

We have lost that drive, that childlike passion and curiosity to know everything and how it is all connected. The ‘experts’ of today (in general) have tunnel vision and work in limited intellectual vacuums like blind mice in shoebox size labyrinths thinking they encompass their entirety. They might be true, in-depth experts of their one puzzle piece, however, they lack understanding of where and how that piece fits into the puzzle and thus in reality are not as expert as they think they are, for how the piece fits or doesn’t fit can change everything about the piece and that is the difference between seeking wisdom and arrogantly thinking one is wise.

Athanasius KircherAnd it is arrogance and ego that has created this prison of ignorance. We have become a species that is divided at the most basic level. We do not depend on the group, nor foster the group. We even lack the understanding of such creatures as the big cats that roam mostly in solitude, yet, still aware of and understanding their connection and dependence on the other of their own kind for their mutual survival. Not only do we put our individual self wholly and almost singularly on our priority list we will even destroy the rest of our species not for the sake of our physical survival, but for the survival of our own ego. We remorselessly kill those we deem less than us and abuse those we can gain some benefit from. This extreme of individualism has cost us dearly.

Thus, we cannot comprehend the savant of the idiot, nor the logic of the crazy, we cannot see good deeds can be done even by evil persons. However, all these things exist and to dismiss them because they are beneath our egos is merely the display of the smallest of individuals among us, namely the ‘experts’.

DNA: The Most Accurate Ignorance In History

In recent history, the last few decades, all the rage to prove the written history has been centered on the new love affair with the absoluteness of DNA. I know what ALL you PRO DNAers are thinking, it is DNA. And DNA doesn’t lie. It is accurate,it is pure, and it is ALL fact. For what it does, yes, I allow that DNA does not in and of itself lie. That being said DNA can only tell a few details in an enormous story! The proof of the detail is only as good as the supporting facts, which as we know, can be incomplete, biased or limited in scope and or depth.

dna-vitstudio-sstock
vitstudiostock via imgarcade.com

A good example is that of most ethnic DNA studies, to show that all of this group or that group have this gene or that marker in common are incredibly handicapped. The problem is several fold; first, the studies are conducted with a very, very, small number of believed members of the whole group, when I say that I mean like in some cases less than 1% of the population of the group as a whole. Tell me of any experiment that would hold up to any rigorous peer review with less than 1% of a population whole being tested and not even that group has 100% results of the find. Let me put this is in a better example for you to understand how these absolute facts are being taken out of their limited context to prop up huge theories….Aliens come to Earth and their ‘Scotty’ beams up 70 out of 7 billion Earthlings 28 of whom have both blonde hair and blue eyes, so they state in their Wikipedia, that Earthlings are humanoids with blonde hair and blue eyes and thus it is blonde hair and blue eyes that determines a humanoid is an Earthling.

DNA Molecule of Life
via www.pinnaclepharmacist.com

However, in addition to usually using no more than 1000 examples of a group, which for most ethnic groups is nothing, they are not consistent with being able to have properly chosen the right examples of a group. What do I mean? If you have ever attempted to trace your family tree you know what I am talking about; if you haven’t, trust me you will learn just how much of what we think we know, we either cannot prove or we prove is totally wrong. There were many reasons for persons to get married and as we still know, being married does not insure fidelity, and there were even more reasons for false information to be given for many noble and not so noble reasons. You have no idea what I am talking about; I am talking about affairs, rape, molestation, war, invasions, religious persecutions, ethnic cleansing, assimilation. Trust me there is way more contaminated DNA in ethnic groups then we want to admit to. For me to accept any DNA study as an absolute you would have to base it on a closed society and we don’t do that, cause we do not have any truly closed societies. We do have societies that have stayed semi-isolated, but we cannot even be completely sure of just how pure their DNA is either. Thus, every DNA test that is trying to find differences between ethnic groups is flawed based on the fact that we can safely assume that all donations are contaminated. While I believe that we should try to never assume, as making assumptions and playing them off as facts is how we have gotten so much of history wrong, based on the examples that I have given you it is highly probable that most samples will be contaminated.

Potters-Field-DNA-Pro_sham-2
via www.vosizneias.com

Now before you get upset that I am screaming foul, I am not. I am not saying that the DNA tests are as poorly done as the study of the Giza Necropolis. What I am saying is that like with the Pyramids, just cause you have a rectangle box that some people think is large enough for a body to fit in that does not make it a tomb, thus less than 1% of a population having a similar trait or gene or marker does not make that a standard for that ‘race’/ethnic group. Also, just like people either went to or lived along the banks of the Nile and built the wonders of Giza, but we do not know that they had always been in Giza/Egypt and the people that live along the Nile today are not the same people that lived there no matter when you think the Pyramids were built. And that goes for pretty much EVERYWHERE in the world today. That also does not mean that there was not any mixing of those peoples and these peoples.

Here is the bottom line, DNA is a fact from one point of view. If 2 people stand facing each other they will see totally different views, this does not make either one wrong, mater of fact they are both right. But to know the whole story, you have to be willing to take both truths and use them as they are, not more and not less, to help tell the whole story and to understand that you only have 2 points of view and that is only part of the whole. But we have to learn that each and every part of the story is important to the whole and we cannot leave out parts that we do not like or that are not pretty then we are losing parts of the story that is our own.

Hancock V Hawass

SCORE Hancock

Hancock Hawass YouTube StillSo on 22 April 2015, there was supposed to have been a debate between, Graham Hancock and Dr. Zahi Hawass, in Egypt. The topic was about their differing views of the history of Egypt and human kind.

This could have been an amazing discourse. It is always a very good thing when ideas are shared, exchanged, and questioned. The best thing about this debate would have been that while Mr. Hancock is still searching for answers and the WHOLE truth, Dr. Hawass thinks that we know EVERYTHING, that there is nothing else to know, and that HE knows all there is to know concerning Egypt and the beginnings of history.

Dr. Hawass was the primary reason that I did not pursue study in Egyptology. He is a tyrant in the field. He was “God” in that he had the power to deny access to any research into any site any where in Egypt and also could refuse a researcher access to any artifact in Egyptian possession. Thus, making it almost impossible for someone to have any differing idea and be able to pursue it.  You either agree with the status quo or you kiss your career good-bye. Prime example for how you better change your mind if you want to keep your career is found in Mark Lehner, who went from having a very open mind about what was possibly still left to learn and find in Giza, to parroting Hawass’ lines about everything already being known….in a Nova documentary, Mr. Lehner stated that the reason for the carving of the Sphinx…..was that it was a show of artistic creativity.

Back to the point: Dr. Hawass, has an inability to allow differing ideas and opinions in the dialogue of history with regards to Egypt and Egyptology. If he was totally so sure of his own opinions and conclusions and his statement that we have nothing more to learn on the topic, then why not grant access so that fools make fools out of themselves. By denying access to sites and artifacts he is limiting research. Then by stopping access and projects in the middle of their activity, he is also creating the ‘contamination’ of the experiment and even feeding these “foolish notions” instead of letting them finish. Or worse he jumps in and claims the evidence/discovery as his own. Whether or not Dr. Hawass ever had any true love or passion for Egyptology or not is mute at this point as he clearly no longer does.

Please, check out this link for the whole story as well as links to the video, so that you can judge for yourself, what happened and what the reasons might be and how this might impact future learning in the area…..

Causeways and Rituals in the Ancient World

Woodhenge-Wiltshire-Engla-001
Woodhenge Wiltshire England

Not far up the river Avon from Stonehenge is a less famous, but equally important site, that of Woodhenge. And the difference from Stonehenge is just like it sounds…Woodhenge was made from timbers and Stonehenge is constructed of stone.

There is a theory that believes that the difference in the construction elements of these two sites was intentional and meaningful. This theory holds that Woodhenge was constructed from timbers as symbols representative of life or the living and that Stonehenge was constructed out of stone, a non-living or ‘dead’ material and thus represented death. With new techniques and technology there have been new discoveries. One of the discoveries that connects these two sites is the finding of ‘Avenues’ leading from both sites toward the river Avon and thus connecting both. Therefore, the theory draws a conclusion that this was a funeral ritual conducted that commenced at the Woodhenge and proceeded to the Avon, down the river to the ‘Avenue’ to Stonehenge.

stonehengemap
From Woodhenge to Stonehenge

I would argue that one issue with this theory is that to date there has been NO significant finds of the remains of this ritual. Which is the same paradox that occurs in another very famous ancient site that is stated as the tomb of ancient leaders and their ‘partners’ or Queens. And the comparisons are more than just the missing dead!

Where is this other famous site! It is the Giza Necropolis. As we have shown in previous posts that ‘fact’ that the Pyramids were tombs does not hold water when common sense is applied. However, if we look in comparison, between, not just the Woodhenge-Stonehenge relation to Avon, but also the ‘Avenue of the Dead’ in Teotihuacan, which while not in proximity to a river, contained large pools of water down the center of the avenue, we find similar details.

Teotihuacancityplan
Avenue of the Dead Layout

All three sites have very specific astronomical alignments. The alignments not only correspond to the Sun rise on certain days, such as the Summer Solstice in the case of Stonehenge and Giza, as well as, Teotihuacan being aligned 15.5 degrees East of due North (possibly cause it was the position of the Sun rise ‘on the certain day of summer‘), but also the lay out or the locations and the inclusions of elements within the sites.. There are also comparisons that could be argued, between the layout of Giza with the position of elements of the skies, as well as, the correspondence between the layout of Pyramids along the Avenue of the Dead at Teotihuacan, with other elements of the skies closer to Earth.

Lower_Egypt-enFocusing on Giza, we find incredible causeways that lead to or from the river Nile, depending on your point of view or maybe on the time of year or ritual that might be being preformed. We see the alignment of the Pyramids with the cardinal points, as well as, the Sphinx facing the rising Sun on the Summer Solstice. Other comparisons include the similarity between the lay out of the Pyramids with the stars of Orion’s belt; and the shafts within the Great Pyramid that seem to point at other certain stars of mythological importance to the Ancient Egyptians. There is also the fact that another very important site of ritual of Ancient Egypt is like Woodhenge to Stonehenge, the site of Heliopolis is located down the river Nile from the Giza Necropolis. While Heliopolis was believed to be the place of worship of the Sun God, Ra, and it was the ‘Cult of Horus’ held the constellation Orion in high regard as the place of Horus in the Sky; we must remember that Orion was the celestial location of the pharaohs in their afterlives. Horus was the son of Isis and Osiris, the son and daughter of Geb and Nut, the son and daughter of Shu and Tefnet, whom were created by Ra. Thus there is not a clear separation of Ra and Horus as some scholars would imply. Furthermore, both gods are associated with rebirth, the afterlife, the cycle of life. So it would appear that there is more connection than distinction between Heliopolis and Giza, just as we see between Woodhenge and Stonehenge.

It would seem that, our linear view of time and life have blurred our ability to understand the view of our ancestors, whom seem to have understood the cycle or endlessness of existence better than we do. It, also, appears that, with regard to the commonalities between the skies and ancient monuments, past civilizations were more knowledgeable about our place in the universe than we seem to be. It is ironic that we seem to need computers and high powered telescopes to see what our ancestors saw; and that we also need advanced math and physics to contemplate the vastness that they took as just what was!

Make A Claim;Back It Up!

So, in cruising the web this morning, looking for interest that would hold me long enough to write something worth reading, I happened upon an article written by April Holloway of Ancient Origins.

Giza Necropolis DrawingI usually tend to enjoy her articles, they seem to be thoughtful and researched and if someone questions her facts she is usually willing to support her ideas and engage in constructive dialogue and if there is any conflict she seems willing to note it and even updates her articles accordingly.

This article states, that basically a poor Egyptian man, for some unknown reason, is digging, without authorization, in a room in his home. The home is located in the no digging, no drilling zone of an area considered of historical significance, due to its proximity to the Giza Necropolis. After digging down about 10 meters he stumbles upon the Causeway for the Great Pyramid!

WOW!
REALLY!

The Causeway that has never been found by historians or archaeologists in centuries just happens to run under this mans home?
COOL.
It does happen.

The article goes on to then focus on the historical references to the Causeway, with only one reference to the amazing new discovery, that apparently was reported in ONLY one paper in the world, that being Ahram Weekly. And that was only in their Arabic edition! Now, maybe Ms. Holloway’s Arabic is fluent, mine isn’t. However, the best that I could determine is that this ‘digger’ was a drug dealer and that he was of enough interest, that according to the article, the FBI, as well as, Russian law enforcement were also somehow involved in this ‘investigation’.

While it does seem that the proper ‘experts’ have been called in to investigate what the illegal digger found….the article doesn’t clearly say with any real description that a passage way or hall or anything was found that would make a logical leap to claiming that the Grand Causeway of the Great Pyramid was finally DISCOVERED!!!

I then proceeded to attempt to find supporting reports and or articles or press releases….I found 3, unfortunately they ALL led back to April Holloway’s original article. While, I really do hope that something of great interest comes from this find….to make a discovery claim on such vague and un-validated evidence seems irresponsible.
Time will tell.

An Ancient Code or Alien Code

Well, Which Are You Looking For?

H2 has a new series called In Search Of Aliens. In this series, Giorgio Tsoukalos travels the world searching out proof that humans are the product of extraterrestrials’ intervention in ancient times, known as Ancient Astronaut Theory. Giorgio’s approach is very focused on his belief in Ancient Astronaut Theory, and thus that is how he observes and measures all evidence and events. His speculation or conclusions do not inhibit the open minded from looking at the things he presents on this show and seeing history or accepted facts from a different point of view. Often in his search, Giorgio seeks out authors, researchers, and academics that look at history differently from the mainstream and they are worth the watch and listening to.

Giorgio has looked at the Nazca lines, the legend of Atlantis, Puma Punku, even Bigfoot and Cyclops have been pursued; but upcoming is the search for an Ancient Alien Code. According to the promos it will look at ancient sites and artifacts looking for a secret hidden code left by the Ancient Aliens. To prove, of course, that humans are genetically engineered by ETs for some ancient dubious reason.

It got me thinking about how easy it can be to find what you are looking for, especially, if you look hard enough; but sometimes you have to remember that a circle is just a circle. While I am the first to tell you that I believe anything that has not been proven to be wrong or false, I also do not look at a place or site or artifact looking for the proof of some predetermined answer. I do believe that our ancient ancestors did leave us clues and secrets to help us, if the way the world was became lost or destroyed; that being said, I have no true or even strong idea about what those clues or secrets are suppose to tell us.

For example, do I believe in aliens? Sure, it seems illogical and mathematically improbable that we are the only ‘intelligent’ life forms in the whole great big universe. And that Earth is the only earth-like planet out there. However, if we were so visited in the past by Ancient Aliens as some people believe, including the possibility that the ‘Gods’, ‘Angels’, and or ‘Heroes’ that lived with us were in fact ETs, then where are they now? And why did they leave? If they came for our gold and other metals, why leave before it was all gone? If they lived here and warred here, then where are the survivors? Why fight a war for a place that you leave? If we are the equivalency of a galactic zoo, where are the zoo keepers? If they left with the promise of returning….why haven’t they returned yet?

It is true that the ancients seem to have not only been very occupied with the stars they were also very knowledgeable of them as well. This seems to form the core foundation for the Ancient Astronaut Theory; that being said, the movement of the stars through our view of the heavens can be compared to a universal Swiss watch. So it is just as plausible that the interest was purely for the purpose of marking time and thus being aware of cyclical events, events which could have profound effects on life on our planet. And that the ancients, which I strongly believe, were much more intelligent and highly developed, in their own way, than we give them credit for, were aware of these events and how to mark time over eternity. I do not believe that ancient man necessarily needed aliens to give them knowledge or information. I do in fact believe that we modern humans are in much more need of extraterrestrial intelligence and knowledge. As we have progressed with all our technological things we have lost our connection to our world and in losing that we have lost our way in the universe. That broken connection will more than likely be our downfall.

How you may wonder. Consider this, most kids do not see a need to protect nature, mostly because they believe that we have no REAL or life sustaining need for the wild. Most children believe that food comes from grocers and fast food places. They think clothing comes from stores and factories. They have no true value of the cycle or life or the bonds that connect ALL living creatures on our planet. They are not taught that destroying or losing any part of the chain can cause the whole chain to fall apart, remember we are only as strong as our weakest link, these days we have many weak links and they are not merely weak they are broken, we are most certainly a very fragile society and seem completely determined to push our world to the brink for the sake of technology and greed which we call advancement.

The Low Down on Ley Lines

One of the most little known, but often misused terms, with regard to discovering our past or human origins is the term ley lines. So lets see if we can search through all the static and find the ground under our feet, which is really all that Alfred Watkins was doing in his book The Old Straight Track.

Being very interested in the landscape of the countryside by profession, meant that Watkins was observant in his travels across Britain. One day, while out driving along the countryside, he stopped and observed what he thought was a ‘pattern’. His idea actually seems logical and makes mathematical sense, in so much as, the shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line.

Even archaeologists  admit that the logic and reason applied makes sense and is supported by  locations of historical sights in some areas. They claim that it seems that if it were possible that ancient peoples at least in certain locales and or over periods of time in larger areas seem to regularly build on a line or in a line.

What was it that Watkins observed? As stated above he noticed several details and gave them a wholeness. Being a landscape photographer, he went to numerous sites around Britain and it was in doing this that he noticed very ancient paths that crossed the landscapes in basically straight lines. In Watkins theory, each ley line started or ended with a hill, also that if you come across an ancient sacred site you would most certainly find at least one ley line crossing the site or extending from the site.

The New Age movement has turned the concept of ley lines into a metaphysical ancient secret. Of course that has allowed academics to have great ammo in shooting down theories of any type about the existence and or importance of ley lines to the ancients or us. Skeptics like Benjamin Radford, go so far as to completely misspeak when he claims that it was purely practical matters that determined the location of ancient sites. Guess he missed that there is not really anything practical about the location of Machu Picchu, and the stones used for Stonehenge were from about 200km away. Mica sheets found in temples in Mexico were from Brazil. Thus, clearly indicating that there was nothing practical about these locations, certainly not regarding building materials as he claims.

The New Age researchers have claimed various theories such as energy fields within the Earth or the gathering of spiritual energy at these ancient sites. I am not here to dispute any of that, as I do believe that the Earth is full of energy and also that we can find spiritual energy in many places. However, not being present in ancient times nor possessing any documents or other irrefutable evidence giving a specific and direct reason for why certain sites were chosen or the reason certain paths/roads were used, I also will not give my support to any side.

I will say this; I think waking a straight line or having straight line of sight is a logical justification for ley lines, that being said, I also know that we all have places where we will feel relaxed or happy or content or nervous or uncomfortable or whatever without any apparent reasons for said feelings, so at this point any and all theories might be correct in part or whole.

How Words Get In The Way

hieroglyphicsPreviously we talked about how personal short comings with academics can impact interpretation of history and historical evidence, especially in regard to archaeology and anthropology, in uncovering our past. Today lets look at how simple words can be used to either support erroneous fact or facts that are ignored because of the words that describe them. There are several factors that can lead to words being ignored or used to support incomplete or even wrong facts. The least of which is modern experts own contextual basis, to incomplete or wrong interpretation of the ancient source. The incomplete or wrong interpretation is usually due to the fact that today’s experts tend to blindly accept previous findings as fact without truly following the logic and standard of scrutiny that is supposed to be employed to validate one’s hypothesis to ensure the most accurate theories that facts can support are presented to the academic world and then to the public. At this point, I do want to point out that I am not initiating an across the board slamming of the experts. In some cases, the conclusions that were drawn, at certain times in the past, were logical and rational considering the information that was present at that time and the knowledge of the individual student; however, the more we study and the more we progress in the area of science and research and knowledge it is very clear that old theories need to re-examined with the addition of new information and new techniques and tests. The fact that most academics do not want to re-evaluate old ‘fact’ in the light of new ideas, technology and information is cowardly and ignorant. The pursuit of knowledge and truth have no room for ego, bias and arrogance; unfortunately, it is those very traits that seem to dominate in the world of academics.

Focusing on our specific topic for today, lets look at how words can affect the focus and conclusion of studies made. One of the primary words that instantly causes most experts to discount a story or label it as myth, lore, legend, or fiction is for Gods to be named. I think it would be much more prudent and certainly much more open minded to exchange the word ‘God(s)’ in our academic vocabulary to ‘extraordinary being’. Once a story of a culture names Gods then it is reduced to merely myth and only looked at as a fanciful story or religious dogma, instead of given its due measure as history. There are grand accounts in many cultures that recite the histories from the time of Gods to the time of ‘historically accepted’ man. Ironically, the experts in the same breath discount the parts of the story that speak of the Gods and accept as fact the parts of the story that are about their ‘historically accepted’ men. This is where being over literal can close your mind to nuggets of knowledge laid right before you if you only look with open minds.

There are stories found in many different cultures that speak of persons or peoples that the experts discount as being fiction. Instead having the openness of “I can believe in anything, until I have proof it doesn’t exist” most academics believe in nothing until you prove it exists. This seems naturally counter intuitive to human nature and counter productive to academic pursuit. Most academics would say in order to have a scientific mind one has to be skeptical. There is a huge difference between being skeptical and being a brick wall with no doors or windows. It is very possible to use and achieve scientific procedure while having an open mind. Having an open mind does not influence observation or conclusion as much as having a closed mind does. Matter of fact, an open mind is actually much more conducive to the scientific process than a closed one. If your mind is open then you are much more willing to accept whatever conclusion the facts suggest, whereas if you have a closed mind you have already limited yourself to the conclusions that you are capable of accepting.

troywalls
The Walls of Troy

Here is an example of how having an open mind can be beneficial in using ‘fiction’ to help find history. Homer’s Iliad tells a tale of war over love with all the great ingredients of the epic tale, including Gods and heroes and demi-gods and monsters and beasts. All the ‘experts’ said there are no such things as Gods and demi-gods and monsters and beasts and even heroes the likes of Homer’s imagination, thus it is all fiction. Yet, Mr. Schliemann went against the mainstream, he studied the details that Homer gave in his epic poem and in 1873 he was rewarded with the find of a lifetime, by most accounts, the “fictional city” of Troy, in real life stone and dirt. See Mr. Schliemann chose to look past the words and find the heart of the story and gave us another lovely and wonderful piece of our past.

The experts discount stories of dragons and giants and dwarfs and elves and little people. Those things don’t exist. Why? Cause dragons and giants have not beaten the experts on the head and why should they? Why should anyone whom is considered less that equal beat another over the head merely to prove they exist? It is not the “fictional” creature that is missing out, it is the absolute doubter. I think that the ‘experts’ should take a step back and be logical and rational about the stories that our ancestors gifted us with and treat them as the gifts that they are. Just because something was either never written down or only written down after many hundreds of years does not mean that it is not valuable or that it cannot teach us more than morals. Don’t get so hung up on words, think about this….if you are 5 foot tall then a person that is 7 foot tall is a giant to you and you are a dwarf or little person to them. We have persons of both heights living today, will the ‘experts’ of the future for sure find the remains of both to prove our giants and little people real? We cannot say yes, you can say,  we have our history of words and pictures to ‘prove’ it. Really? Did not our ancestors leave us pictures and words that today as ‘experts’ you call them fiction? So what is to say that tomorrow’s experts will not call your histories and pictures ‘fiction’ as well?

Maybe instead of judging our past by your standard you should judge it based on how you want to be judged by our future.

Errors in Studying History

WhatsApp Image 2019-02-25 at 13.16.14There are many things to keep in mind when one is a student of history. The most important feature that one needs is an open mind. Unfortunately, that seems to be the least common attribute that any academic has this day and age. The prevalent misconception is that either you are open minded and thus naive, or you are skeptical and thus intelligent and knowledgeable. This is a flawed sentiment, for having an open mind allows you to, without bias, observe and analyze an idea, thought, theory solely on its merit, and you can do this logically and rationally and critically. In academic circles, where skepticism is a requirement, it is both the PC label for close minded and the scholarly equivalent of double-dog dare daring them to not only prove their idea, but to prove it beyond your own personal biases and dogmas, usually an impossible feat indeed.

neanderthal nikola solicOur ancestors have left us with a plethora of clues about themselves that we need only unravel. However, in order to accurately and successfully accomplish re-constructing our past we have to stop using our measures to judge. In keeping with the thought that Neanderthals have been completely given the total short end of the stick and made out in our history and science books to be big dumb brutes I want to point out how such misconceptions are so easily made and propagated.

UN Delegate CollageEgocentric eyes need to be refocused into wondering and curious eyes that are open to ALL possibilities. Man today is not better and more advanced, man today is different from man of other times. The whole world is different therefore everything about our worlds differs. One need only look at all the differences among all the peoples that live in our time to see this for themselves. One of the most despicable and deplorable things that an academic can do is to judge their area of study against themselves or their standards. Just because you drive a sports car and live in a high-rise and some other person walks and lives on a covered platform with open walls does not make you advanced and them barbaric or savage.

Double Headed from ColumbiaThe same can be applied to history, just because a culture didn’t have the wheel does not mean they were mentally inferior, that they were not ‘smart enough’ to invent it, it simply means in most cases, they had not developed a reason for using it. As the saying goes, necessity is the mother of all invention; another words if you do not have need of the wheel you will not invent it. For example, the South American cultures, of which the Inca are the most famous, did not have the wheel, however, their gold smelting and smithing quality was better than what our so advanced societies accomplish today with all our technologies. And academics still consider the Inca’s to be a less advanced society, our less advanced selves 500 years ago labeled them as savages and deemed them not much better than slaves and forced labor sources.

Gilgamesh-tablet-flood via englishare netAnother egocentric method that we use in demeaning our ancestors is to judge those that had written documents based on our own perceptions of reality and fact and fiction. We read their stories and history and at best only accept those things that our narrow view of life can understand, the rest we call myths and tales and fiction. So inept are academics at having open minds in this area that the same piece of writing can be used to support our “facts and truths” while also proving what “fiction” writers the people were. And if a culture didn’t have a writing system especially one understood today then they are considered even more uncivilized.

Moving further back in time when ‘judged’ by today’s experts, those peoples that look different from us, well they are not even human, or at best they were sub-human predecessors to our totally modern human selves of today. The attitude that we are the perfection of the animal world and of the long line of peoples that have lived on this wonderful planet is the most arrogant and ignorant point of view that blocks our ability to fully understand our past and marvel in the amazement of our ancestors.

consequences-of-evolution-631Neanderthal should not be considered brutish cause of their physical features, just as they should not be considered stupid cause to the best of our knowledge they lived in existing caves. And they should not be considered uncivilized because they did not, to our knowledge have language, oral or written.

If we could teach the next generation of academics to study out of love of curiosity with open minds and child like enthusiasm, we will be amazed at how wonderful and rich our pre-history past was and will have to rewrite much grander tomes on our journey through time on the 3rd rock from the Sun.
